This simple tutorial will walk through creating a pipe in the Part Design Workbench using additive and subtractive tools. The tutorial is meant to teach the Additive and Subtractive tools in FreeCAD. There are industry standard ways to accomplish a pipe, this is not a tutorial on industry standards. This tutorial aims to familiarize the learner with the FreeCAD interface.

Get Ready
- This Tutorial will use FreeCAD 0.19.
- Open up FreeCAD and create a new Document
- Select the Part Design Workbench
Add the First Cylinder
Click the small arrow next to the Additive Box Tool
From the menu select the Additive Cylinder
The cylinder prototype will be shown in your document window
Set the Height value to 50 mm.
The cylinder prototype should change height as you adjust it.
Click Ok to finish the first cylinder
The updated cylinder will be displayed in the document window.
Remove the Inside Cylinder
Cl the click the small arrow next to the Subtractive Box Tool
From the menu select the Subtractive Cylinder
Set the Height value to 50 mm
Set the Radius value to 8 mm
A succesfull subtraction will be shown in red in the document window.
Click Ok to finish the subtractive cylinder
Your finished pipe will be updated in the Document window.
